Course Description & Objectives
The Nail Specialist Program aims to equip students with basic manipulative skills, safety knowledge, judgments, proper work habits, and the attitudes necessary to perform competently at entry-level positions and secure licensure and gainful employment in nail technology or related fields. Students in the program receive both theoretical knowledge and practical training guided by qualified instructors licensed in Florida. Classroom instruction features authentic, collaborative experiences to enhance learning and application of skills. As a result of this comprehensive approach, students are prepared to excel in a dynamic and growing field, fostering professional development and expertise in nail care and aesthetics.
Admission Requirements
To enroll in the Nail Specialist Course at Meraki Esthetics Institute, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or college degree.
- Must demonstrate good manual dexterity, fully utilizing hands and fingers.
- Must have good communication skills and demonstrate basic English proficiency.
Applicants for programs of four hundred and fifty (450) hours or more, or the equivalent in credit hours, are required to pass a basic skills examination unless they can provide evidence of a high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent. Acceptance into the program is based upon the successful submission and review of all requested documents, fulfillment of all admission requirements, and approval from the Director.
