Advanced Esthetics Course

Meraki Esthetics Institute will prepare you from start to finish to work in a spa or to start your own practice.  Our Esthetics Courses are kept current with the Milady CIMA program.  Every module begins with theory, followed by hands-on training. The modules consists of: Anatomy, Skin Analysis, Skin Care Products, Facials, Hair Removal, Makeup, Sanitation and medspa Management.

Prerequisites: No prior skin care experience needed. Prospective students must pass 10th grade English before enrolling. A high school diploma or GED is not required.

Course Objectives:

The objective of the Advanced Esthetics Program is to prepare students for licensure and entry-level positions in the medspa environment.

The Advanced Esthetics Program is focused on teaching broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding  and demonstration of the advanced elements of skin care, including hair removal, makeup, and basic manicuring and pedicuring.

Upon completion of the program, students will have completed 600 clock hours and will have met the criteria to apply for state licensure for Advanced Esthetics and will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of skin, as well as perform facial services on all skin types.

The program blends theory with skills in a simulated medical spa setting under the supervision of qualified instructors licensed by the state of Florida. Clinical and simulated laboratory learning is correlated with didactic

Instruction:

The program includes but is not limited to human relations and employability, legal and ethical responsibilities, principles of infection control (HIV/AIDS and hepatitis), first aid, verbal and written communications, principles of office management, client physical comfort, sanitation and safety functions, anatomy and physiology, biology of hair growth, understanding and following clients plan of care, principles of client assessment, and a review for the state licensing requirements.

Students will also learn FL cosmetology law and rules, safety/sanitation, chemistry, bacteriology, art of makeup, basic manicuring and pedicuring, and will be able to perform manipulative and electrical techniques required in the practice of a facial/skincare specialist.

Meraki Esthetics Institute will assist the graduating student in contacting the appropriate credentialing agency to complete the necessary forms required for application for licensure. The school will provide a diploma as proof of completing the program with the required number of clock hours
